TWK Steel worked with contractors to produce an environmentally conscious and complimentary steel finish for this 245m long pedestrian bridge. Overcoming strict budget controls and the need to have minimal impact on the surrounding environment, both during and after construction,

TWK Steel worked with the project teams to ensure our materials met strict conformance requirements, including all project, budget and safety necessities. Seeking to integrate with the surrounding natural environment.

The project elected to use a weathered steel finish to provide a natural rust look for the bridge between the Elgar Road and Burwood Highway sides of the Deakin University Melbourne Burwood Campus.

The new bridge supports over 43,000 pedestrian journeys each week and improves safety and accessibility for users, while reducing the impact of foot traffic on nearby vegetation.
